Kenney Moore, Founder & CEO

Kenney founded Hwy 55 in 1991 and has remained its President and CEO to this day. Under his leadership, Hwy 55 has grown from one restaurant into a brand of 130+ units, reaching 17 states and three foreign countries. A proponent of the idea that the ultimate measure of a person’s success is how many people he or she can make successful, Kenney has helped over 50 former hourly-wage employees become franchisees of Andy’s and Hwy 55.

Kenney’s served as a member of various boards, including the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and is a graduate of Atlantic Christian College. He’s also the founder of the Andy’s Charitable Foundation, which has given over $1.5 million to causes in Hwy 55’s geographic area.

April Dennis, Chief Brand Officer

April joined Hwy 55 in 1994, bringing 13 years of experience in management and training from another restaurant chain. She’s spent her career at Hwy 55 developing talent, whether in her current role as Chief Brand Officer, or previous roles as a multi-unit franchisee and head of all corporately-owned restaurants.

She works closely with Hwy 55’s area developers to best grow and develop their territories. She also spearheads Hwy 55’s special events and oversees Hwy 55’s area operators to ensure the Hwy 55 brand is represented well in its communities. April also played a vital role in the expansion of Andy’s Charitable Foundation, of which she’s a founding board member.

Lee Joyner, Controller

Since August of 2014, Lee has conributed decades of experience in accounting, financial reporting and corporate taxation. She has held positions as controller and CFO for companies that span several industries, including the oil, utilities, home healthcare and food service sectors.

Her vast, well-rounded expertise has been vital in ensuring Hwy 55’s financial stability. A certified public account, Lee is an active member of the North Carolina Association of Public Accountants and has held positions on a number of boards. She holds a degree from the University of Mt. Olive.

Neal Dennis, Chief Operating Officer

Neal serves as Chief Operating Officer of Hwy 55, a position he’s held since 2006. Neal has served as a multi-unit franchisee and was named Vice President of Operations for the company in October 1995.

He’s overseen every part of the Hwy 55 business plan, from negotiating food costs, to new restaurant development, to building a comprehensive training program. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer, Neal also takes an active role in designing and executing Hwy 55’s most critical projects, centered on improving restaurant and people processes and systems.

Dave Thompson, Chief Business Development Officer

Dave’s been a member of the Andy’s and Hwy 55 family since 2001, upon retiring from the United States Air Force. He began his Hwy 55 tenure by operating two successful franchise restaurants. He later transitioned into working with the Hwy 55 home office, where he implemented Hwy 55’s Training Program and a major point-of-sale upgrade across the company.

In his current role, he guides franchisees through the steps of opening and remodeling their restaurants, from making site selections, designing new restaurant layouts and overseeing restaurant build-outs.

Guy Guthrie, Senior Vice President, Franchise Development

Guy joined the company as a franchisee in 1994. He’s opened and operated profitable Andy’s and Hwy 55 locations across all areas of volume. Named Senior Vice President, Franchise Sales in 2012, he brings to his current role extensive experience in ensuring restaurants’ long-term profitability. Guy plays an intricate part in working with new franchisees as Hwy 55 expands across the globe.

Bobby Parker, Vice President of Marketing

Bobby joined Hwy 55 in 2013 as our first-ever Vice President of Marketing. He brings to the job over two decades of experience in television production and ad sales, including a decade spent as the owner of a television studio. Bobby is also a former multi-restaurant franchisee of Andy’s and Hwy 55.

In his current role, he oversees all aspects of Hwy 55’s marketing, including budget, traditional marketing and local restaurant-marketing initiatives. He also sets national promotions for Hwy 55’s 130+ locations.
